Kaziranga & Manas Photography installation

The Taj debuted in Assam, Guwahati in 2015 with a hotel that promised a highway to the north east of India. Assam is known for its lush tea plantations, the Brahmaputra, bamboo craft, weaving and of course the 2 UNESCO heritage sites - the national wildlife reserves of Kaziranga and Manas. The team at NYUCT engaged with the hotel to build an immersive brand and design experience.

The team conceived the idea of bringing Manas and Kaziranga and life in the jungle into the heart of the hotel with a photo exhibit. With limited access to the reserve forests and with an intention to build awareness about wildlife conservation, the idea was to build a purposeful design story.

This would soon lend itself to a line of commerce where photo prints could be purchased on order, by guests at the hotel as mementos.
