DIGITAL STORYTELLING TRANSFORMED

STORIES MATTER, THEY HAVE ALWAYS MATTERED. BUT WHAT EQUALLY COUNTS IS THE WAY IT IS PRESENTED.

Every human loves stories. From campfires to nurseries to autobiographies to binge watching and TED, we love listening to stories as they take us into a world that’s unlike ours. We are conditioned to receive messages better when they are wrapped within stories. And these stories need to adapt with times.

For the internet migrants, the millennials and generation Z, a natural course by habit and behaviour for us is consuming news, content, stories through smart phones and tablets. They are the new centres of commerce and marketing. So why should a large population of our stories remain painfully and stubbornly analog? The point is not to decry the analog experience which often is the most real and authentic but to deny the additional dimensions of digitization, interactivity and multimedia is just being foolish.

Storytelling began as visual stories, such as cave drawings, and then shifted through the means of language to an oral medium where generations passed down fables, legends, history and more through word of mouth. Then began the word revolution which led to stories and narratives written, printed and typed. Men and women became supermen and superwomen of achievements by being inspired, educated and informed by these stories.

However, in the age of the internet there are many who still languish with their brilliant content and experiences remaining dead in a analog mode that is often found boring, uninspiring and jaded by the gen next. Now your consumers search the world and more for information, entertainment, socializing and commerce through their electronic devices.
